R.A.D. Classical Ballet
Classical ballet is beautiful, exciting and inspiring. Classical ballet develops co-ordination, body placement, poise and musicality. Classical ballet teaches dedication, determination and commitment.
At CSOD we teach the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) classical ballet syllabus. The RAD is an internationally recognised syllabus and the largest examining and teacher education for classical ballet in the world. The RAD offers an internationally recognised system of examinations and assessments designed to encourage and motivate students. It ensures young dancers develop through age appropriate syllabus from Pre-Primary grade through to major levels. When students are ready they can take examines through the RAD that are assessed by external professional examiners.
Classical ballet classes are held Monday through to Friday. Grades - Primary through to Grade 5, Vocational Grades: Inter-Foundation through to Advanced Two. Open ballet classes are an option for students who want to continue to dance but don’t wish to take part in exams or performances.
Older students have the option of taking the new RAD Repertoire syllabus or the Vocational major grades. Exams are optional. For more information visit the RAD website www.rad.org.au. RAD workshops held in April and July. RAD Exam sessions are held June and October.
